Banker Turned Furniture Maker

I’m Tony, the guy who traded his suit for a toolbelt. Having spent 16+ years in banking in Singapore, I resolved to embark on a more profound and meaningful journey in the realm of fine furniture craftsmanship and woodworking. This decision ultimately brought me back to school, where I enrolled at the Chippendale International School of Furniture, Edinburgh. The prospect of transitioning from a banker to woodworker might have sounded challenging to some, but for me, it has been the most rewarding and fulfilling experience.

The notion put forward by George Nakashima in his book “The Soul of a Tree’, that furniture is the second life of a tree, I am inspired by the idea of turning wood into beautiful, meaningful, and functional furniture and giving it a new purpose. It will occupy a space and it will have a story.

Drawing on my experience as a former banker, I apply the same meticulousness and keen focus on details to the art of furniture making, ensuring that every piece is crafted with exceptional quality and functionality in mind.
